Visit us on booth 7 and you will have the chance to see and touch NOTUS, an integrated wind turbine’s blade, aerospace and ship thickness and adherence inspection system developed by das-Nano in co-operation with the Frahunhofer Institute, and already operating successfully in industrial environments.
NOTUS system offers the unique feature to evaluate the adherence between two layers in a non-destructive manner, while measuring the thickness of each layer individually. The system is fully automated and can be operated by regular workshop staff without special qualification.
Recently, the NOTUS technology has proven its state-of-the art capabilities in the field by inspecting operating wind farms of two different blade manufacturers.
The results of the measurement campaign reinforce the idea of the need for better inspection technologies as thickness and adherence defects have been detected in areas in which the visual inspection qualified the blade as “Good”.
